Situated
mostly on a floating ocean platform called the Aquapolis,
the theme of oceans would be repeated at Genoa's Expo
'92 and Lisbon's Expo
'98. The island had just recently been under U.S.
control, so much of the impetus behind holding the exposition
was to celebrate it's becoming, once again, part of
Japan.
