Zaragoza, Spain will host Expo Zaragoza 2008, the next of the smaller sized international expositions. It beat out Thessaloniki, Greece and Trieste, Italy for this honor in 2008.
The exposition site is along the Ebro River and will include some groundbreaking architecture housing exhibits around the theme of "Water and Sustainable Development." Plans are to house exhibits from 70 to 90 countries grouped together by their relationship to water (island nations, arctic nations, etc.).
The year 2008 will mark the 100th anniversary the Spanish-French Exposition Zaragoza 1908.
Spain also previously hosted Expo '92 in Seville.
