Daniel González Fernández is an Expo Enthusiast from Seville, Spain.
Daniel was about 10 years old when he begged his mother to take him to Expo 92 Seville.
Expo 1992 Seville set a passion of Expos in Daniel that remains to this day. He has attended 5 Expos: Seville 1992, Lisbon 1998, Zaragoza 2008, Milan 2015, and his latest, Dubai 2020.
His favorite?... Of course his hometown, but Expo 2020 Dubai also exceeded his expectations, and now ranks at the top with Seville.
Daniel enjoys the architecture and organization of Expos. He spends lots of time photographing pavilions and sites around the Expos and, as long as he attends, he doesn’t care if he visits alone or, even better, with someone who is an enthusiast like himself. In the future, he would like to work at an Expo assisting with customer service or logistics.
Expos bring many memories. For Daniel, visiting an Expo is always a memorable experience, but if he had to choose, he would stick with the feeling of visiting an Expo for the first time. It is something that remains in your memory: The long time waiting for that moment, and once you are in... it is magical! The first time you see the buildings, the highlights, the festive atmosphere, and memories to come.
Speaking of memories, what about souvenirs? Daniel enjoys collecting T-shirts, pins and books from the Expos he has visited. His favorite souvenir: a stuffed Curro, the mascot of his beloved Expo 1992 Seville!
When asked if there was anything else he would like to add about his Expo experiences, Daniel didn't hesitate: ”See you in Osaka!”
