The second exposition held in Paris took place in a colossal elliptical building known as the Palais Omnibus. Designed by Léopold Hardy and Jean-Baptiste Sébastien Krantz, the building covered more than 15 hectares.

Inside of the Palais Omnibus, participating countries constructed pavilions in local architectural styles, setting the stage for the future of world expos as a global showcase of architectural pageantry.
