In this post Jason takes you to the site of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, also known as the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. On a recent business trip to Chicago he was able make a last minute unplanned excursion to visit the one Pavilion at the Expo/Fair site that remains, which many are aware of, however when he did some research also discovers another remaining building at the site which was a surprise to him. Watch the clips and read below to see what he finds!
Apologies in advance as this filming was not planned and filmed with a handheld cellphone.
UPDATE: After further research the light posts are not the original light posts.

Below is a video and photos of Jason's surprise find.

When visiting and old Expo/Fair site try to do some prior research so you can find any obscure remnants of the Expo/Fair. It is great to find a piece of history whether it be a full building or something as small as a piece of an old foundation or signpost. It connects you to the past and lets you put yourself in an exact location at a site. Just close your eyes and travel back in time!
We would love to have enthusiasts out there visit old Expo/Fair sites and send us your photos, videos, your finds and stories of your experience. It is very enjoyable to share our knowledge so we can document everything about a former World Exposition/Fair site.
Below are some interesting websites documenting some surviving buildings from the 1893 Chicago World Exposition and the Fair itself.
